Guilin

Located in the northeast of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in south China, Guilin is considered to be the pearl of China’s thriving tourist industry because of its natural beauty and historic treasures. The stunning landscape surrounding the city is made up of strangely shaped hills called karsts, spectacular caves, two rivers and four crystal clear lakes.  Vegetation ranges from bamboos to conifers. There are many scenic sites within a short traveling distance of Guilin, including Longsheng with its famous Longji rice terraces, the Lijiang River, and Yangshuo, a tourist town with wonderful shops, restaurants, world class mountain climbing and bamboo rafting. This makes Guilin an excellent base for exploring the northern end of Guangxi Province.
